Good improvement, I love the relaxed athmosphere. Compared to the older drawing, the colours match allot better and the eyes are properly placed, the use of thicker and smaller lines gives it more depth. Well done.
Keep it up!

This drawing gave me a little smile and a warm feeling, I love it when a drawing does that. The lighting and shading looks great and I like the character design.

I am very curious to the next ones in this series and how they grow. Will they be happy, will they be fighting, will they be separated? Looking forward to them!

AlexPartridge responds:

Glad you like it. Yeah, I didn't want to go overboard on the emotional side of things, so warm and fuzzy is definitely more what I was aiming for!

I've got some ideas floating around for the next few pieces but nothing is concrete as of yet. And, as you've pointed out, some will be happy some will be sad, so do stay tuned! :)

Doctor: ''What colour mushroom did you eat''?
me: ''About every colour''

I like this one, especially with the little challenge you put in there, challenge accepted!
I found the Mushroom, Illuminati symbol and some flower looking star, the acronym I guess is the letter M? I couldn't find anything else, so I guess that should be it.

If that's not it, please tell me what I should have been =)

coltybah responds:

Good job! Thank you for taking the time to find them, the flower is a pot leaf ;D and the acronym is DMT an extremely psychedelic drug. If there's anything you want me to draw for you PM me or whatever :)

It looks good, though I believe you forgot the reflection of the water on the ocean.
The further something is from the viewer the more blurred and lighter the colours become, you do this very well, but you seem to have forgotten the horizon, it is a very sharp change from water to sky.

I like the rays of sunlight breaking trough the leaves of the trees and the clouds look really good.

Where is the light coming from though, it is confusing me a little. The rocks and some trees indicate the sun comes from the top right. But 1 tree has light coming in from the top left.

(sorry to nag about these details, I feel like a jerk. Though I hope it helps you a little in future works)

Extellus responds:

I'm not exactly striving to make it as realistic as possible although I do see your point. =) I guess I'm just looking for the best way to convey a certain feel of the atmosphere and I think that such hard realism might hinder that. =/

That soul has become part of the worst instrument to be tortured by. Nicely done!

I couldn't reply to your question before, ( you can't reply to a reply apparently )
Anyway, I have seen some work of Arthur Rackham before, but never remembered the name. The other artists are also really good, thank you for pointing them out, I will check some more work of them.

Looking forward to more illustrations

gavinvalentine responds:

Glad to hear it EmeraldPhoenix! Thanks for checking out my work and commenting. =)

Great armor, I don't know the show though. I didn't see an armor type like this after searching google. Did you designed it yourself?

I like the pose and colouring

Scavenger25 responds:

No i took desing reverences from the original char nefertini. you can google it by searching mummies alive ,nefertini. i changed the armor a bit more detailed and fit it to the year 2015. thanks for u like anyway XD

Looks good, I can see improvement in your work! Keep it up

It looks so simple and yet it is very interesting. De composition is great, I can feel my eyes being drawn inside this illustration, well done.

YakovlevArt responds:

That's what I hoped for. Really pushed my abilities of playing with scale, composition, and lighting. I think that's one of the reasons I knew i had to build it in 3d first.

I really love this style.

So far the devil's bassist is my favorite of them all. I am really curious about the last one.

These drawings remind of a book filled with fairy tales my mom used to read to me as a kid (nostalgia kicks in) . I believe Anton Pieck made those drawings...? Is your style inspired by him by any chance?

Looking forward to more illustrations!

gavinvalentine responds:

Thanks EmeraldPhoenix! I have heard of Anton Pieck, but he wasn't a direct inspiration. Have you heard of Arthur Rackham, Charles Vess or Brian Froud? Those are some of my favorite artists. =)

Beautifully made, the armor and especially the gems look amazing. And the undead behind her look much better then the ingame WoW ones ;)
